I graduated from nursing school with a BSN in 2009. I’m a girl mom, a step mom and a pet mom. I founded Positively Lifting Fitness on Instagram at a moment of desperation and need to regain my confidence and my life back.
During my pregnancy in 2020 I was already over weight at 180lbs, I gained a total of 40lbs and after giving birth I suffered from severe Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety. Being a mother took over my life and self care was pushed back as a secondary priority in my life. Sometimes I was too depressed or tired to even make any effort to lose weight. Four years went by faster than I could imagine and I was still at my heaviest weight. In 2023 my husband and I made a deal to lose each 30 lbs before the year was over and that motivated me to lose 10 lbs with just diet alone but quickly reached a plateau. In November of 2023 is when I decided to start my weight loss journey online and start weight lifting again as I already had experience with it 10 years prior. I bought dumbbells and I did all my workouts from the comfort of my home. I made drastic changes to my diet, and daily life. I knew if I wanted drastic changes I needed to be consistent and disciplined.
Sharing my journey online helped me stay accountable and consistent. I realized that having someone, other than my family, following my weight loss goals and aspirations was enough. I received so much information and knowledge from everyone in the fitness community that I reached a weight loss of over 60 lbs in six months, reaching a pre pregnancy weight. I know that having someone that could help me stay accountable and motivated made the difference for me and I want to be that person for you.
